Former President Donald Trump and his family reportedly saw their wealth soar by as much as $6 billion on paper following the debut of their new cryptocurrency, World Liberty Financial (WLFI).
According to The Wall Street Journal, WLFI officially went live on Monday, marking the crypto equivalent of an initial public offering. Until then, early buyers of the token had been unable to trade. Once trading opened, the coin quickly attracted heavy market activity, fueling the Trump family’s reported multibillion-dollar windfall.
The Trump family controls roughly one-quarter of all WLFI tokens in circulation. Donald Trump’s three sons—Donald Jr., Eric, and Barron—are listed as co-founders of World Liberty, while the former president holds the title of “Co-Founder Emeritus.”
Although World Liberty has stated that founders’ and team members’ tokens are currently “locked” and cannot be sold, the opening of public trading provides a real-world market valuation for their holdings, which had previously been based only on private sales.
The venture, launched last year during Trump’s presidential campaign, was pitched as a way to “make America great again, this time with crypto.”","images":["https://d2kdcqywr8ua22.cloudfront.net/uploadfile/article/blog/2025092025/09/03/e2557f4c9cdd374f7fd176c2d7526bc3.jpg","https://d2kdcqywr8ua22.cloudfront.net/uploadfile/article/blog/2025092025/09/03/d3e81e7767c70786aef8b18f57a74541.jpg"],"tags":[],"tradingPairs":["WLFI/USDT"],"quotearticleid":0}
