Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick shared the news during a White House cabinet meeting, stating, “The Department of Commerce will begin issuing its statistics on the blockchain because you are the crypto president.” This initiative is part of the Deploying American Blockchains Act of 2025 (H.R. 1664), which gives the Commerce Department the responsibility of leading the federal blockchain strategy.
