I was sending a super small amount of BTC (0.00000472) from my Web3 wallet to Binance.
Guess how much the network fee was?
👉 0.00021617 BTC 😳
That's like 45x more than what I was actually sending!
---
🔍 What happened?
• I didn’t check or adjust the fee settings — it probably used a “high priority” fee.
• MEV protection was off.
• The Bitcoin network might have been a bit congested.
• And yeah… sending such a tiny amount on mainnet wasn’t smart in the first place 😅
---
💡 What I learned:
✅ Always double-check the network fee before confirming.
✅ Don’t use BTC mainnet for small transfers — use Lightning or a cheaper chain like BSC or MATIC.
✅ Turn on fee protection if your wallet supports it.
---
Just sharing so others don’t end up wasting BTC like I did.
Crypto's great, but little mistakes can cost big if you're not careful. 🚨
